Follow up Letter from Village President Hettermann - Pistakee Yacht Club
Dear Johnsburg Residents and Business Owners,
In my Summer letter sent out last week, I informed you that the Village had been working with the Pistakee Yacht Club on an agreement to resolve the litigation brought by the Yacht Club against the Village. At that time, I reported that we incorporated additional changes into the agreement that were requested by the Yacht Club and were awaiting the Club’s execution of the agreement. I am disappointed to report that despite making the changes the Yacht Club requested, they’ve chosen not to resolve the matter and have instead informed the judge that they will be filing a new complaint against the Village in court.
The Village has a responsibility to enforce ordinances and protect all of its residents from being adversely impacted by the misuse of property. We have repeatedly expressed our willingness to work with the Yacht Club and are disheartened that their representatives have once again chosen to pursue litigation rather than resolve this matter.
Respectfully,
Edwin P. Hettermann
Village President
