No-Left Turn - Fairview Avenue/Chapel Hill Road
Vehicles are prohibited from turning left off of Fairview Avenue onto Chapel Hill Road. Despite the restriction being in place for several years, we continue to see travelers completely disregard the many signs instructing them not to turn left. This past week, pavement markings were added as an additional reminder. The site distance at the intersection is limited and the restriction was put into place to avoid accidents. In the interest of public safety, our police department will be actively enforcing this regulation and citations will be issued so please adhere to the restriction.
Alternatives to Landscape Waste Accumulation
There are other alternatives to burning your landscape materials. For more information, click here. The Health Department encourages more environmentally sound alternatives to burning of landscape waste and recommends composting, mulching and native landscaping as possible alternatives to reduce/reuse landscape waste, click here for further information. The Village's residential refuse and recycling service includes the removal of up to 8 bags or cans of landscape waste per week. For more information visit LRS - Johnsburg.

Remaining work includes ComEd meter installation & power activation, mechanical controls, pump activation & testing.

ComEd – Snow Reminder
ComEd is planning for the winter months. In preparation, they have provided the following guidelines: ComEd transformers and/or switch gear on your property that may need to be accessed in the winter. Occasionally after a snowstorm, snow removal efforts will result in buried or blocked access to critical ComEd equipment. If there is a need to access ComEd equipment, at least ten feet of open space in front of the equipment’s cabinet doors is required. Additionally, at least one (1) foot of clearance on the remaining three (3) sides of the equipment is necessary. If you do lose power, call 1-800-EDISON-1 to start the restoration process.
ComEd Tariff Updates
ComEd has submitted several filings with the Illinois Commerce Commission over its; (1) Rider CFRA; (2) Rider PEA; (3) Rider ECR; (4) Rider DSPR; and (5) Rider EDITA, which will impact rates. Information on the filings can be found at Recent Rate Change Filings | ComEd - An Exelon Company
