CMAP is shaping the future, Spread the word about the RTP questionnaire
Have you ever been stuck in traffic, or had difficulties finding a safe way to walk through your neighborhood and around? The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) wants to hear YOUR feedback on where our transportation system needs improvement. They are developing the 2026 Regional Transportation Plan that will guide northeastern Illinois towards a more reliable, connected, and inclusive transportation system. Whether you travel by driving, rolling, walking, or taking public transit, CMAP wants to hear from everyone on transportation challenges and future aspirations for getting around. Take the questionnaire to make your voice heard.

Golf carts and other qualified non-highway vehicles may be driven on streets within the Village’s corporate boundaries where speed limit posting is 35mph or less with the exception of Johnsburg Road and Ringwood Road. They are also NOT permitted on any County Roads or State Roads. Signs have been posted on streets where golf carts are allowed, mapping is developed and will continue to be  updated as additional designated routes and paths are approved. License plates and yearly registration are required for all non-highway vehicles at a fee of $75.00 (vanity) or $60.00 (automatic numerical issue) shall be assessed for all new registrations. Once the vehicle is plated, the renewal and/or transfer fee of $25.00 will be charged for the same vehicle each year thereafter, click here for further information.

REAL ID Clarification! Do You Need a REAL ID?
To accommodate the recent surge in demand, Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias introduced a new designated “Get A REAL ID” portal on the homepage of its website ilsos.gov.
This enables Illinoisans to determine:

  • if they need a REAL ID before the May 7 federal enforcement period begins; and
  • how to find a walk-in location or schedule an appointment near them.

If you have any questions, please reach out to outreach@ilsos.gov for more information.
