County News; Take survey to help county obtain broadband funds
Taking a quick online survey can help ensure that McHenry County receives its fair share of more than $1 billion in funds to improve broadband access for residents and businesses. The survey, which can be found at https://go.illinois.edu/ConnectMcHenryCounty, only takes five to ten minutes to complete, and asks about your provider, the number of devices in your home or business that rely on internet access, and your upload and download speeds. Residents have until Friday, April 4 to complete the survey. For questions, please call 815-334-4818, or email broadband@mchenrycountyil.gov. Click here for further information.

REAL ID Clarification! Do You Need a REAL ID?
To accommodate the recent surge in demand, Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias introduced a new designated “Get A REAL ID” portal on the homepage of its website ilsos.gov.
This enables Illinoisans to determine:

  • if they need a REAL ID before the May 7 federal enforcement period begins; and
  • how to find a walk-in location or schedule an appointment near them.

If you have any questions, please reach out to outreach@ilsos.gov for more information.
