Johnsburg Sled Hill – Closed, snow permitting will open
That’s right, the Village of Johnsburg has a Sled Hill! Sunnyside Memorial Park (1515 Channel Beach Ave) and it is available to all residents. Please ensure to comply with the posted Sled Hill Rules or click here for Municipal Code Ch. 8. Please ensure you park in the parking lot, you cannot drive directly to the Hill.
Johnsburg Outdoor Ice Rink - Open
The Village of Johnsburg has the Ice Rink! Rescue Squad Park (2410 W. Johnsburg Rd) and it is available to all residents. Please ensure to comply with the posted Ice Rink Rules or click here for Municipal Code Ch. 8. Surface preparations are normally prepared in the a.m. hours (weekdays only) for afternoon and evening skating, if snow accumulates on-top we ask to stay off the ice until preparations for day are completed (excludes weekends). Please ensure you park in the parking lot, you cannot drive directly to the Rink.
Illinois' Electric Vehicle Rebate Program
Applications for the fourth funding round for the Electric Vehicle Rebate Program are being accepted starting NOW and must be postmarked on or before April 30, 2025. The application and instructions are available on the Illinois EPA; Electric Vehicle Rebate website. Applicants must apply during the rebate cycle window and within 90 days of purchase of the vehicle. Funding for the round is limited and low-income applicants are given priority for rebates. Recommendations for Avoiding Respiratory Viruses as Seasonal Illnesses Increase
Seasonal Respiratory Illness Dashboard with respiratory illnesses on the upswing last month, IDPH issued a health alert to hospitals and healthcare facilities recommending that they take note of local conditions and consider targeted steps to mitigate the circulation of seasonal illnesses. Understanding Carbon Monoxide Risks and Proper Winter Home Heating Safety
Winter brings cold arctic air to Illinois and as residents turn up their thermostats to stay warm the risk of a home heating fire or Carbon Monoxide incident increases. The Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal (OSFM) encourages residents to have their furnaces checked, change furnace filters, and make sure carbon monoxide (CO) and smoke alarms are functioning properly. Unlike smoke, carbon monoxide is a colorless and odorless gas only detectable by special devices and CO alarms. Click here for further information, tools and resources.
