HAPPY & SAFE 4TH OF JULY – OFFICES CLOSED FRIDAY
Wishing you a happy and safe 4th of July from President Ed Hettermann, the Village of Johnsburg Board of Trustees & Staff. Village offices will be closed Friday, July 3rd and will re-open on Monday, July 6th in observance of 4th July weekend.

THE BOAT HOUSE OF CHICAGO COMES TO JOHNSBURG
The Village of Johnsburg is pleased to announce the opening of The Boat House of Chicago at 515 Bald Knob Rd, Johnsburg, IL 60051. Yesterday, Wednesday, July 1st, Village President Hettermann along with Economic Development Committee representatives joined The Boat House of Chicago employees and members of the Johnsburg Area Business Association in an official ribbon cutting ceremony commemorating the event. Village President Hettermann presented The Boat House of Chicago with a Certificate representing the stores first dollar of clear profit in the Village. We welcome The Boat House of Chicago to Johnsburg and wish them great success in our community. 

GARBAGE & RECYCLING (Reminder)
Residential garbage and recycling pickup will occur as normal Friday, July 3, 2020 this week. Contact Waste Management at 800-796-9696 with any questions.

SUNNYSIDE TAVERN - CHRISTMAS IN JULY
It's never too early to get in the holly jolly spirit, at least according to Sunnyside Tavern. On Saturday, July 18, 2020 Sunnyside Tavern will be hosting a “Christmas in July” parade event to raise funds for the Johnsburg Lions Club/Johnsburg Police Department Shop-with-a-Cop program benefiting Johnsburg area children. Only registered Golf Cart / UTV may decorate and participate in the parade, which will travel throughout Sunnyside Subdivision. The entry fee is $10. If you would like to participate, please call Sunnyside Tavern at 815-385-4460 and remember to respect others and practice social distancing.

ELECTRONIC WASTE RECYCLING & BRUSH DROP-OFF​
The McHenry Township Road District is again partnering with the Environmental Defenders of McHenry County to offer recycling programs for McHenry Township residents.  Your next opportunity to recycle is Saturday, July 18 from 8:00a.m. to 12:00 p.m. There will be NO drop off of recycling items during the week. Drop off is located in the township employee parking lot at 3703 N. VILLAGE SERVICES
To prepare residents and business owners with updated safety guidelines in Phase 4, the State of Illinois has developed this business toolkit complete with signage, posters, and other resources to ensure business and activities are conducted in accordance with the latest public health recommendations.

Village facilities have resumed normal business hours to the public, Village administrative staff are available through email communications at villagehall@johnsburg.org and phone (815) 385-6023 to support essential services, but our doors are open to the public with specific required guidelines.

Our Village staff is monitoring and evaluating information regarding COVID-19 as it becomes available so that it can be shared with our residents and business owners in a timely manner. Additionally, we urge you to monitor the Village’s website at www.johnsburg.org for updates and resources.

JOHNSBURG "BUCKS" PROGRAM
The COVID-19 Coronavirus has greatly affected all of our lives, and our business community has especially been hard-hit. To help revitalize our economy, the Village has established a voucher program that will provide a $20 voucher (Bucks) to every household in Johnsburg to be spent at participating Johnsburg businesses. The program, known as the “Johnsburg Bucks Program” , will begin on July 13, 2020.  Johnsburg residents must apply for their "Bucks" in person with proof of residency at the Village Hall (1515 Channel Beach Ave, Johnsburg, IL 60051), beginning Monday, July 13, 2020. Click here for further information and to access the application.

COVID TESTING FACILITY - JOHNSBURG, IL 
A COVID-19 drive-thru testing site is open at the Walmart parking lot located at 3801 Running Brook Farms Blvd, Johnsburg, IL. The site is supported by Walmart, eTrueNorth and state & local officials to test anyone who meets CDC and state & local guidelines on who should be tested, including first responders, health care providers and others with symptoms of COVID-19 and those in high risk groups without symptoms. SHOP AND DINE IN JOHNSBURG!
The State of Illinois has moved into Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois Plan and businesses in Johnsburg are again open following the guidelines established by the State. To ensure your safety, our business owners have been working diligently to prepare their businesses in compliance with those guidelines. We urge you to get out and support Johnsburg businesses!

ALTERNATIVES TO LANDSCAPE WASTE ACCUMULATION
Landscape Burning is Prohibited until October. There are other alternatives to burning your landscape materials. For more information, click here. The Health Department encourages more environmentally sound alternatives to burning of landscape waste and recommends composting, mulching and native landscaping as possible alternatives to reduce/reuse landscape waste, click here for further information.

JOHNSBURG PUBLIC LIBRARY
Join the Johnsburg Public Library online! Summer Reading Program is going strong - register online here. You can request reading materials and other items by calling 815-344-0077, online through our catalog or by emailing them at curbside@johnsburglibrary.org  Items can be picked up between 11:00a.m. - 5:30p.m. Monday-Thursday and 9:30a.m -11:30a.m. Friday and Saturday. Super Summer Reader yard signs are also available to pick up-display one in your yard and you might win a $10 gift certificate to a local Johnsburg business!
