e-Blast - Veterans Day (Honoring and Remembering)
Honoring and Remembering
Initially meant to celebrate world peace and the end of World War I, Veterans Day has evolved into a holiday honoring current and former members of the United States Armed Forces. The true Warrior fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him. On this Veterans Day, let us remember the service of our veterans, and let us renew our national promise to fulfill our sacred obligations to our veterans and their families who have sacrificed so much so that we can live free. Start today by recognizing all those among us who have been a part of the great brotherhood and sisterhood we call the U.S. Military - our veterans, active-duty service members, guardsmen and reservists. It is their service and sacrifice that has kept our country safe and free. Veterans Day gives Americans the opportunity to celebrate the bravery and sacrifice of all U.S. Veterans. Wishing you a Happy and Safe Veterans Day from President Ed Hettermann, the Village of Johnsburg Board of Trustees & Staff.
