Why we will Never Forget 9/11

NEVER FORGET – 9/11
Today marks 19 years since 9/11. This is the anniversary of personal and permanent loss for those families who lost loved ones during 9/11 and we realize the pandemic has impacted how those loved ones can be honored today. The Village of Johnsburg will never forget the tragedy and lives lost.  From President Ed Hettermann, the Village of Johnsburg Board of Trustees & Staff.

CENSUS 2020
The 2020 Census will provide a snapshot for the Village of Johnsburg - our population, where we live, our community and so much more. The results are critically important as they affect the amount of taxes returned to our community. For every resident that is not counted, the Village will lose out on approximately $1535.00 per person in federal funding every year.

Census data helps businesses, researchers, and communities make decisions. The data can help inform where your community needs more funding for schools, new roads and data collection for Grant funding. In addition to federal funding, state shared revenues are also allocated to the Village on a per capita basis.

Census takers are hired from your area, and their goal is to help you and everyone in your home be counted in the 2020 Census. If the census taker who visits your home does not speak your language, you may request a return visit from a census taker who does speak your language. If no one answers the door, and the bureau determines the home is occupied, census workers may try to get information about people living there from proxy respondents, such as neighbors, or from other government records.

The census taker will ONLY ask the questions that appear on the census form (you must be at least 15 years old to answer questions): address, phone number, number of people living in your home, whether you rent or own your home, and basic information about each resident.

The 2020 Census is more than a count. It's an opportunity to get involved and to help shape the future of your community, a Hometown with Spirit! Click here for further information.
