Shake the Lake 2024
Are you ready to Shake the Lake?! The Chain O’ Lakes’ 4th Annual boat-in music festival on Pistakee Lake returns July 6 and 7, 2024 presented by The Boat House! Dedicated to bringing boaters all throughout the Chain, Upper, & Lower together over their shared passion for music, community, and boating. All in support of keeping our waterways clean! Pistakee Bay Annual Fireworks
Join the Oak Park Lounge for their Annual Pistakee Bay Fireworks event Saturday, July 6, 2024. It is for the people by the people to celebrate our Independence! DJ, live music, beer, pop, water, food and ice cream will be available for sale. No coolers allowed. Fireworks will start later that evening. Click here for further information.

Residential Garbage, Recycling and Yard Waste Service Delay
Due to holiday scheduling, garbage & recycling services will be delayed by one day this week. LRS observes the following holiday for updated service schedules; Independence Day, scheduled collections that fall on or after an observed holiday will be delayed by one day the week of the holiday only. The Markets of Remington Farm
Farmer’s Market hosted by The Markets of Remington Farm takes place Saturday, July 6, 2024 from 8:00a.m. – 2:00p.m. at 3519 Chapel Hill Road (next to Prem Magnetics). The event will continue to take place each month on the first Saturday of the month through October. Come out and visit the lineup of fantastic vendors showcasing their goods. Fireworks – (Not Permitted)
Fireworks in Illinois have been illegal since the Illinois' Pyrotechnic Use Act. It prohibits residents from buying and using fireworks other than small, novelty ones like sparklers and smoke bombs. Violating the law is a Class A misdemeanor, punishable by fines. 43.07 Fireworks; No person shall sell, offer for sale, use or explode any fireworks in the Village except the Board of Trustees may grant a permit for a public display of fireworks.

Electronic Waste Recycling & Brush Drop Off​
The McHenry Township Road District is again partnering with the Environmental Defenders of McHenry County to offer recycling programs for McHenry Township residents. Your next opportunity to recycle is Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 8:00a.m. to 12:00 p.m. There will be NO drop off of recycling items during the week. Party-in-the-Burg 2024
Tickets on sale now! The Village of Johnsburg and the Community Affairs Committee invites you to Party-in-the-Burg (adult night out) event Friday, July 26, 2024 from 6:00p.m. to 10:00p.m. Tickets on sale for $10 at the Village Hall or from your Community Affairs Committee Members and Trustees. Listen to Dueling Pianos music from "Felix & Fingers" while enjoying a Food-Truck meal, B.Y.O.B. and your own lawn chairs. Click here for more information.

7^th Annual JABA Golf Outing!
Join JABA, Friday, July 260, 2024 for a great day on the course at Chapel Hill Golf Course, followed by raffles, 50/50 and the ball drop which supports Johnsburg DECA program! All levels of golfer's welcome. There are many opportunities to win prizes! Open Burning of Landscape Waste  - (Not Permitted)
Open Burning of Landscape Waste is not permitted at this time. Violators will be fined. The Village's residential refuse and recycling service includes the removal of up to 8 bags or cans of landscape waste per week. For more information visit LRS - Johnsburg.

Alternatives to Landscape Waste Accumulation
There are other alternatives to burning your landscape materials. For more information, click here. The Health Department encourages more environmentally sound alternatives to burning of landscape waste and recommends composting, mulching and native landscaping as possible alternatives to reduce/reuse landscape waste, click here for further information. The Village's residential refuse and recycling service includes the removal of up to 8 bags or cans of landscape waste per week. For more information visit LRS - Johnsburg.

Consumer Confidence Reports (CCR) - 2023 Now Available
The annual Consumer Confidence Report includes basic information on the source(s) of your drinking water, the levels of any contaminants that were detected in the water during that calendar year, and compliance with other drinking water rules, as well as some educational materials. Click here for further information and reports.

McHenry Township Fire Protection District - Life Jacket Loaner Program
MTFPD, in partnership with BoatUS Foundation, loans life jackets for a day or weekend. Fill out the form, or stop by the station at 3610 W. Elm Street, McHenry. Look for the entrance with the "Borrow Life Jackets Here" poster. Click here for further information. Boat Launch & Voluntarily Vehicle Stickers
Boat launch stickers are available at the David G. Dominguez Municipal Center. Anyone wishing to use the Village’s boat launch on Riverview Drive (Alfred May Park & Boat Launch) is REQUIRED to purchase a sticker and display it on the vehicle used to launch the boat. The sticker cost for Village residents is prorated (2^nd year) $10 and non-residents may purchase a sticker for prorated (2^nd year) $50. Launching is NOT RECOMMENDED for boats greater than 24 feet. Although the Village no longer requires the use of vehicle stickers, we do have them available for residents who wish to display one. As you know, Illinois has two seasons - Winter and Construction Season. Along with the warmer weather comes the inconveniences that occur with road construction. To help you prepare, below is a summary of construction projects that will be taking place in Johnsburg. As the projects proceed, be prepared for delays and seek alternative routes whenever necessary.
