The Markets of Remington Farm
Farmer’s Market hosted by The Markets of Remington Farm takes place Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 8:00a.m. – 2:00p.m. at 3519 Chapel Hill Road (next to Prem Magnetics). The event will continue to take place each month on the first Saturday of the month through October. Come out and visit the lineup of fantastic vendors showcasing their goods. Johnsburg Junior Skyhawks Football Steak Fry and Auction Fundraiser 
Don't miss out on the 10th Annual Johnsburg Junior Skyhawks Steak Fry and Auction fundraiser, Saturday, August 10, 2024, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the Johnsburg Community Club (2315 Church St). Tickets are $30 per person and include steak, potatoes, salad, bread/butter and two beverages. Come out and join family and friends in support of the Johnsburg Junior Skyhawks, click here for further information. Pistakee Palooza
The Community Sailing School @ Pistakee is hosting Pistakee Palooza on Saturday, August 10th from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Pistakee Yacht Club.  The event will feature complimentary sailboat rides, a live auction, music and games. GenComm Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Event
GenComm is pleased to announce the grand opening of their brand-new facility at 2510 Hiller Ridge in Johnsburg. McHenry County Division of Transportation
McHenry County has now expanded its transportation options for eligible McHenry County residents. MCRide Connect is a new on-demand, user-side subsidy program using transportation network (commonly known as rideshare) companies, like Uber and UZURV, to provide a new affordable transportation option for eligible residents in McHenry County. Electronic Waste Recycling & Brush Drop Off​
The McHenry Township Road District is again partnering with the Environmental Defenders of McHenry County to offer recycling programs for McHenry Township residents. Your next opportunity to recycle is Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 8:00a.m. to 12:00 p.m. There will be NO drop off of recycling items during the week. Johnsburg Lions Club 6th Annual NonHighway Vehicle Cruise for Charity
The Johnsburg Lions Club is hosting the 6th Annual NonHighway Vehicle Cruise for Charity Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Sunnyside Tavern (4206 N Johnsburg Rd). Golf carts / UTV must be registered, permitted vehicles. More info will follow. The Johnsburg Lions Club will be selling 50/50 raffle tickets and 50/50 drawing will take place at the end, Sunnyside Tavern. Click here for further information as it develops.

McHenry Township Fire Protection District - Life Jacket Loaner Program
MTFPD, in partnership with BoatUS Foundation, loans life jackets for a day or weekend. Fill out the form, or stop by the station at 3610 W. Elm Street, McHenry. Look for the entrance with the "Borrow Life Jackets Here" poster. Click here for further information. IDNR and Illinois Conservation Police urge life jacket use, sober boating ahead of busy Memorial Day weekend on the water.

Open Burning of Landscape Waste  - (Not Permitted)
Open Burning of Landscape Waste is not permitted at this time. Violators will be fined. The Village's residential refuse and recycling service includes the removal of up to 8 bags or cans of landscape waste per week. For more information visit LRS - Johnsburg.

Alternatives to Landscape Waste Accumulation
There are other alternatives to burning your landscape materials. For more information, click here. The Health Department encourages more environmentally sound alternatives to burning of landscape waste and recommends composting, mulching and native landscaping as possible alternatives to reduce/reuse landscape waste, click here for further information. The Village's residential refuse and recycling service includes the removal of up to 8 bags or cans of landscape waste per week. For more information visit LRS - Johnsburg.

Boat Launch & Voluntarily Vehicle Stickers
Boat launch stickers are available at the David G. Dominguez Municipal Center. Anyone wishing to use the Village’s boat launch on Riverview Drive (Alfred May Park & Boat Launch) is REQUIRED to purchase a sticker and display it on the vehicle used to launch the boat. The sticker cost for Village residents is prorated (2nd year) $10 and non-residents may purchase a sticker for prorated (2nd year) $50. Launching is NOT RECOMMENDED for boats greater than 24 feet. Although the Village no longer requires the use of vehicle stickers, we do have them available for residents who wish to display one. Stickers are now available and can be purchased at the Village Hall for a cost. Click here for further information.

Consumer Confidence Reports (CCR) - 2023 Now Available
The annual Consumer Confidence Report includes basic information on the source(s) of your drinking water, the levels of any contaminants that were detected in the water during that calendar year, and compliance with other drinking water rules, as well as some educational materials. Click here for further information and reports.

2024 Public Works Projects
As you know, Illinois has two seasons - Winter and Construction Season. Along with the warmer weather comes the inconveniences that occur with road construction. To help you prepare, below is a summary of construction projects that will be taking place in Johnsburg. As the projects proceed, be prepared for delays and seek alternative routes whenever necessary.

  • Riverside Drive Improvement Project - Approximately 65% complete
    • Road Closed from Johnsburg Rd to Running Brook Farm Blvd (Northbound & Southbound)
  • Bay Road & Spring Grove Road Resurfacing
    • Grouse Tr & Church St
    • Lane Closures, click here for updates
  • Sunnyside Beach Road Improvement
    • Project Closeout 
      • Please be advised, Infrared Asphalt Equipment and Operations have begun. Contractors will be making sure that traffic can move in and out of the neighborhood as they go, process does involve a moving road-closure. We kindly request some further patience as we are reaching the end of the Road Improvement. We apologize for any inconvenience. 
  • Church Street Road Realignment Project
    • Project Closeout 
  • Sewer River Extension
    • Projected Start Date; August 2nd (Tree Clearing) followed by Mobilization, August 5th 
  • Public Works Road Maintenance
    • Sunnyside Dr & Riverview Dr; Temporary Road Closure anticipated Wednesday, August 14th (weather permitting). Public Works Department will have Sunnyside Dr CLOSED to accommodate a culvert replacement. The road is expected to re-open at the end of the day. Further information will be provided as it develops. Residents on Sunnyside Dr will continue to have access to their homes, we request patience and apologize for any inconvenience.
