Easter Egg Hunt 2024
The Village of Johnsburg along with the Community Affairs Committee and other volunteer organizations are hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 30th at Sunnyside Memorial Park (1515 Channel Beach Ave) beginning at 11:00a.m. (sharp), we have candy filled Eggs thanks to some generous sponsors (6,000 eggs). There will be 3 separate hunts broken down by age group and start times. Bring your own basket to collect your eggs, enjoy some hot chocolate from Johnsburg Area Business Association (JABA) and watch for a Hoppy Visitor! ComEd - Tree Trimming To Begin Soon
Arborists performing vegetation management for ComEd will be working in your neighborhood within the next 3 months. Within the next 3 months’ arborist will trim trees, branches and vines that interfere or have the potential to interfere with power lines. In some cases, tree removal may be required. The remaining tree stumps are treated with an approved herbicide to prevent future regrowth. Herbicide will be applied by state licensed applicators. McHenry Township Fire Protection District Siren Maintenance
Braniff Communications will be performing annual maintenance of the tornado sirens for all the Township jurisdiction between April 8th – April 12th. The only audible alarm will be a short “growl test”; while maintenance is being performed, you may hear a momentary sound from the siren as it begins an actual start-up. Once activated, it will then stop. There will be no prolonged sounding of the siren. The maintenance work is to make sure there is no damage and/or all parts are working properly. Questions can be directed to the McHenry Township Fire Protection District at (815) 385-0075.

Open Burning of Landscape WasteProhibited!
Keep in mind that the burning of landscape waste is NOT permitted at this time. The Village of Johnsburg will not provide warnings to property owners violating burning regulations - citation will be issued. Landscape waste can only be burned during the months of April, May, October and November provided that setbacks and other requirements can be met. Recreational fires, ceremonial fires are exempt but may not be larger than 3’x3’x3’ and cannot contain leaves, grass or shrubbery clippings. Additionally, special circumstances greater than 500’ from any habitable structure and when all other applicable regulation can be met. Click here for the requirements.

Help Raise Funds for Johnsburg Boys Basketball - Donate Your Shoes
Donate your gently worn, used or new shoes today! Shoes can be dropped off at all Johnsburg school offices and the David G. Dominguez Municipal Center (Village Hall; 1515 Channel Beach Ave). Funds2Orgs will take collected shoes to be reused and given a second life by those in need through #microenterprise.

Johnsburg Jr. Skyhawk’s Football (Registration is Open)
Start your Jr Skyhawk Football adventure with JJSF (incoming 1st graders-8th grade)! Registration is now open and will run through for flag registration February 29, 2024 and tackle through May 31, 2024. Click here for further information.

McHenry County Lead Safe Homes Program
The mission of the program is to eliminate childhood lead poisoning in all low and moderate income privately owned rental and/or owner occupied housing populations throughout McHenry County. This goal will be achieved using identification and control of lead-based paint hazards. They are committed to making healthy homes and safe environments available to all children aged 5 and under in the county by addressing a multitude of hazards in area homes where children are or can be present. Non-Highway Vehicle Permit 
With the warmer weather quickly approaching, make sure to get out and renew your Non-Highway Vehicle Permit. Golf carts and other qualified non-highway vehicles may be driven on streets within the Village’s corporate boundaries where speed limit posting is 35mph or less with the exception of Johnsburg Road and Ringwood Road. They are also NOT permitted on any County Roads or State Roads. Signs have been posted on streets where golf carts are allowed, mapping is developed and will continue to be developed as additional designated routes and paths are approved. License plates are required for all non-highway vehicles and a fee of $75.00 (vanity) or $60.00 (automatic numerical issue) shall be assessed for all new registrations. Once the vehicle is plated, the renewal and/or transfer fee of $25.00 will be charged for the same vehicle each year thereafter, click here for further information.

RFP - Website Design and Hosting Services
The Village of Johnsburg, Illinois is issuing a Request for Proposals (“RFP”) to companies (“the Vendor”) interested in providing comprehensive website design services for the Village’s website (Home Page | Johnsburg Illinois). The Village of Johnsburg is looking to partner with a qualified Vendor to create a website with an attractive design that is user-friendly and informative. The current website was last refreshed visually and navigationally in 2016 and is looking to launch a revamped website before the end of the 2024 calendar year.
